An installation

In 2008 we were invited by the Vorarlberger Architektur Institut to participate in a think tank with the task of imagining Vorarlberg in the year 2020.

We created Starchitect-Global Vision Inc., a fake company that was hired to reimagine Vorarlberg 2020.

Starchitect-Global Vision Inc. is located nowhere to be found. Our office is in airplanes, taxis, and bullet trains. All we need is our kit and a map. We dream globally, the planet is our construction site.

We came up with different futuristic scenarios one of them was: DUBAILBERG

In the year 2020, a large corporation acquired the bankrupt county of Vorarlberg/Austria… They kept the political apparatus in place, but came up with a plan to revitalize the area with a radical new design. The plan centered around a series of buildings that represented the local, culture and natural habitat with the aim of attracting tourism and new businesses into the county. The buildings were to be designed by star architects to give the area a futuristic new look. They hoped that by attracting new people and businesses they can create demand for new developments – public housings, new public transportation systems, hotels, airport, and leisure time facilities.

Vorarlberg, in the eyes of the new corporation, should become the Mecca of the new world. A place of culture, innovation, and style.
